Sebastião Pedrosa

Born and lives in Brazil. He is both an artist and art educator, with PhD got at the University of Central England in Birmingham, UK. He has lectured at the Department of Art and Communication, Federal University of Paraíba in the period between 1978 and 1985. Since 1985 he lectures at the Department of Art Theory, at the Federal University of Pernambuco, where he is both the Coordinator of the Art Degree Course, and the Coordinator of the Project Art in School – UFPE Polo. Between 1995 and 1999 he collaborated to Escolinha de Arte do Recife as a president.
He has devoted himself to art production and research in the area of art education and creative processes in art. He is a member of the ANPAP – National Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts. In 2000 he received a prize in printmaking by the occasion of the Ist International Exhibition of Mini Print in the city of Vitória – Brazil. In 2002 he received another prize in printmaking by the occasion of the XXII Mini Print International of Cadaques – Spain. In July of 2003 he travels to Spain with the aim to be both a jury member of the XXIII Mini Print International of Cadaqués, and present a one man exhibition of 33 mini etchings at the “Taller Galeria Fort”, in Cadaqués. He has taken part in various print exhibitions, both in Brazil and Europe.
